| Srikanth amazes kids in Canada |   |

| Fete des Enfants, a festival for children with fun-filled activities is organized annually at Montreal in Canada. And this year it was held at the sprawling grounds of Maisonneuve Park which attracted over a hundred thousand Montrealers, passing through the park, taking in the festivities on a weekend in August. Kala Bharati, an arts organisation of Montreal participated with presentations in Bharatanatyam.
And this year, Madras based dancer Srikanth, who was in Montreal in August, participated along with Jessica Arpin a trained circus performer learning Bharatanatyam. Srikanth and Jessica worked with Kala Bharati's Artistic Director, Mamata Niyogi-Nakra to come up with a presentation given at regular intervals throughout the day, that combined circus acts and dance to narrate a story line. The animation allowed the children to join Srikanth, Jessica and young Kala Bharati dancers to try out some dance movements. |
