Awards for father and son 
Sri Krishna Gana Sabha in Madras is now hosting the Swarna Jayanthi Varsha Gokulashtami Sangeetha Utsavam. The Governor of Tamil Nadu P.S. Ramamohan Rao inaugurated the fest and presented the award of 'Sangeetha Choodamani' to carnatic vocalist O.S. Thiagarajan and 'Acharya Choodamani' to Thiagarajan's father O.V. Subramaniam.

The 3-month long fest dedicated to Gottuvadhyam Narayana Iyengar's birth centenary features the top artistes in carnatic music.
