'Panchabuthams' from Music Today
 Music Today releases a new album, 'Panchabuthams' featuring carnatic vocalist Bombay Jayashree. The release function is scheduled for August 18, at Music World, Spencer Plaza, Mount Road, Madras. A semi classical-fusion album, it contains compositions of Muthuswami Dikshithar themed on the five elements.
L. Vaidyanathan has composed the music with contemporary orchestration, while the rendition of the krithis is purely carnatic. Some pieces can be choreographed for dance as well. Kosmic Music releases two new albums, 'Tamilmarai Isai' (Azhwar Pasurams) and 'Nayika' (Telugu Padams) this week. The albums feature Bombay based carnatic vocalist Vasumathi Badrinathan. On 23 August, the Jeer Swami of Ahobila Mutt will release the Tamilmarai Isai (Azhwar Pasuram) album at Selaiyur, Madras. On 24 August, flautist N. Ramani will release the Nayika (Telugu Padams) album and the first copy will be received by dancer Chitra Visveswaran at Ragha Sudha hall, Mylapore, Madras.
