Music Today releases a new album, 'Panchabuthams' featuring carnatic vocalist Bombay Jayashree on August 18,2003.
A semi classical-fusion album, it contains compositions of Muthuswami Dikshithar themed on the five elements. L. Vaidyanathan has composed the music with contemporary orchestration, while the rendition of the krithis is purely carnatic.
The album also contains vedic chantings on the elements.Cassettes are priced Rs.50 and CDs Rs. 225.
