Here are the responses received at KutcheriBuzz:

We are deeply grieved to hear that Sri. Sivanandam passed away. A great vainika leaves us and causes a great loss. He was a great vidwan and devoted his life to music. As late as last year in October, Sri. Sivanandam was the guest of honour in the Thygaraja festival in Paris and treated all of us to his veena. It was admirable and the whole audience who was in a trance, gave him a standing ovation for a long time. Considering his frail health at that time, it was possible only for a great musician such as he. May his soul rest in peace.

I have the privilege of being one of the senior disciples of Sri K.P.Sivanandam. He is a treasure house of music. His bloodgroup is Veenai...He is a scholar, teacher of par excellance and belongs to a strict sampradaya cult. No new-wave music can be found in his school. His Todi, Kalyani and Sankarabaranam raga sancharas are unparalled. May his soul rest in peace. He is true to the Rishi Yagnyavalkaier's saying "Veena Vadhana.. adhivisadhara... priyatanam moksha margamu sangacchathi.."
