Carnatica, an organisation promoted by carnatic musicians Sowmya and Sashikiran has recently been launching various innovative programmes to propagate the Indian culture and tradition.
Launching now is 'Cultural Renaissance' - a movement to bring back the Musical Bhakti movement. The promoters of the project say that this method of congregational singing was led by saints of both south and north India.
This programme features the 'Call N' Sing' concept, where any interested amateur / professional musician looking out for opportunities to sing can now open up with just a phone call. Opportunities would be provided after a basic screen test.
A cultural tour of temples is also being planned. This movement starts at Chennai and initially 15 temples would be covered on a monthly basis.
Carnatica is also planning to open culture-centres or clubs in various residential localities. These clubs will host chamber concerts by small groups / organisations / apartment associations giving opportunities for young talent.
Another programme is targeted for the corporate organisations where music appreciation programmes would be conducted through mini concerts and lec-dems by professionals. The talented among the employees will be given chances in Carnatica's talent promotion scheme that includes Karaoke albums.
Carnatica also plans to reach out to orphanages, old-age homes, special children, cancer institutions, destitutes and other NGOs.
Carnatica's office premises will also feature Nama Sankeertanam and classical music programmes on a monthly basis where every one can participate on registration.
