Many Carnatic musicians will participate in the Malabar Mahotsav being held in Kozhikode (Calicut), the coastal town in Kerala, from February 9 to 12.
The concerts feature Neyveli Santhanagopalan, Uma and Radhika (Chinmaya sisters) and Pala C. K. Ramachandran; Kumaranelur Rajamani, N. Hari and Kuzhalmantham Ramakrishnan, R. Swaminathan, K. Viswanathan, T. H. Lalitha and others.
The concerts are to be performed at the Padmashree Kalyanamandapam from February 10 to 12.
Other artistes (accompanists) include Thripunithura Radhakrishnan, S. V. S. N. Viswanathan and Kovai G. Suresh, Payyanur Govinda Prasad, Kannur P. K. Santhosh and Thamarakkuzhi Rajasekharan.
Classical dance and music are at the core of the Malabar Mahotsav.
A jugalbandi by Ronu Majumdar from West Bengal on flute and Rafeeq Khan from Mangalore on sitar will be held on the opening day.
Food, folk arts, crafts sales and theme events are part of this annual fest.
