Thyagaraja's musical opera / Wichita state

Saint Thyagaraja's Musical opera 'Prahlada Bakthi Vijayam' was presented on April 24, 2004 at the Wichita State University campus. Organized by the Wichita Asia Association, the opera was presented in vocal music by Savitha Kadiyala, Gopal Sudarsan and Ramprasath Dorairaj. 24 kritis from the opera, including slokas in Telugu and Sanskrit composed by saint Thyagaraja were presented along with narration of the story in English (narrated by Lakshmi Kambampati). Mridangam accompaniment was provided by Ganesan Devarajan of Dallas and violin accompaniment was by Sankaran Menon of New Jersey. The event was well attended.
