The New Jersey State Council on the Arts announced the award of 2008 Artists’ Fellowships, cosponsored by the State Arts Council and the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation (MAAF).
Thirty New Jersey artists were selected from an applicant pool of 350 artists. Ramya Ramnarayan is one of the few recipients of this prestigious award.
Ramya also receives the title Nrithya Kala Seva Mani from the Cleveland Thyagaraja Utsavam Committee for the year 2008
Ramya Ramnarayan is a disciple of Guru Swamimalai Rajaratnam and Kalanidhi Narayanan. She is the Artistic Director of Nrithyanjali Institute of Dance, New Jersey and teaches aspiring students in North Brunswick, NJ and Allentown, PA. She serves as an adjunct professor in the Dance Dept. of Rutgers University.
