Madurai R. Rajaram
Born to Brahmasri Palamadai Ramasubramanian, Bhagavatha Siromani and Smt. R. Meenakshi, who imparted Namasankeerthanam singing, Madurai R. Rajaram underwent thorough training under Ramanathapuram ‘Madhura Kala Praveena’ C. S. Sankarasivam and also under Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri. D. K. Jayaraman and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri T. M. Thiagarajan, in Carnatic vocal music. He also learnt Pallavi singing under ‘Pallavi’ Venkatarama Iyer.

He has given concerts in almost all leading sabhas.

Ambition
To give concerts and teach traditional music to make it reach more people.

Alapanas shine with quality
Madurai Rajaram’s raga expositions were short but lucid.
Presenting himself for the G. K. Foundation at Sastri Hall, Madurai Rajaram made optimum use of the time at his disposal. He had to make his alapanas short but the essential moorchanas (characteristics) bore a stamp of quality. His voice displayed a good range and took on many shades to suit raga requirements. . . .
