All about the Sabha:

Kartik Fine Arts was started in April 1975.
The chief guest was M A M Muthiah Chettiar and Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. K. Balachander and Cho S Ramaswamy were also present at this event.

The intention is to promote Carnatic music, dance, drama, Harikatha. religious discourses and other allied fine arts and have a limited screenings of new film shows.

There are three types of memberships and Kartik has 35 x 2 Life Members, 450x2 Kartik Circle members and 75x2 Krishna members.

Subscription Fee 2006-2007

Life Member - Rs: 15000/-
Kartik circle [2 tickets] Rs 1000/- annual
Krishna circle [2 tickets] Balcony Rs. 800/-

Admission fee -Rs.100 [Subject to availability]
Each member is eligible for two tickets to all shows including concerts during December music and dance season.

How to become member

Members will be admitted only in the month of April subject to vacancies. The new member should be introduced through another member. Contact the Secretary for application when required.

Film shows

Three popular film shows will be conducted after Pongal, Deepavali and Tamil New Year day In regular theatres.

Daily Tickets For Monthly show for non-members:

Those who are not members can also get admission to the shows. The ticket rates are - Rs.100,50,30,20,10 [per person]

Daily tickets during December Season:

For non-members, the rates are Rs.500,200,100,50,30,20 [per person] according to the programmes

For NRIS:

NRIs who want to attend the December season concerts can e-mail the sabha Secretary and reserve tickets. Reservation queries must be sent in October. Such people will get preference in issue of tickets. (subject to availability)

Sponsr ship of programmes Season and monthly

Sponsorship of programmes will be accepted The amount will vary according to the programmes maximum publicity will be given to the sponsor. Endowment programmes in the name will be arranged In their specified date.

 

December season 2007: Kartik Fine Arts presented Isai Peroli award to vocalist Dr. R. Ganesh and Nadanamamani award to dancer Lavanya Ananth

Donation:

Art lovers who wish to donate to the sabha can do so. Sabha will accept cash or cheque in Indian currency only. Donors can send donations in the name of KARTIK ART FESTIVAL TRUST {80G tax exemptions are available}

Programme Schedule

A minimum of three programmes will be conducted every month.
'Talent music' programme are conducted in September-October -November.
Kodai Nataka Vizha is held in April-May every year in addition to monthly dramas.

Dance festival of young and up and coming talent will be in the month of January.

An art featival is held from Dec.1 to
Dec 31, during the December season.

In addition to that, three popular filims will be screened

Venue of the programmes

Programmes are held at different venue. R.R.Sabha hall, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore, Narada Gana Sabha hall, Alwarpet, Valliammal College for Women, Anna Nagar. Regular programmes are held in Mylapore.
