S.Darshana and T.S.Sowmya are two promising, upcoming Carnatic music vocalists. They are currently under the tutelage of Shri. Sriram Parasuram-a legend in his own right, who has carved a niche for himself both as a vocalist and a violinist, in Hindustani as well as Carnatic music, besides his eminence in other forms of music. He is not only a musician of renown but a distinguished musicologist as well.

These two good friends Sowmya and Darshana have been blessed by His Holiness PujyaShri Swami Dayananda Saraswathi and encouraged to perform Carnatic music as a Duo. Both of them have been trained in Carnatic music from their young ages from different teachers. Darshana has had significant spells of training from Bombay S.Jayashri, Smt.Sukanya Jayaraman, and Sri.R.Krishnamurti. Sowmya has had special training from Smt.Gomathy, and S.Darshana. They have also undergone basic lessons in the Veena and voice culture training at Brhaddhvani.The uniformity in their voices and the perfect synchronization of their thoughts has inspired them to perform together.

They complement and inspire each other to perform better. One can certainly look forward to a good and sincere rendition of Kritis, be it those of the Trinity or that of any other Composer. The focal point of their music is always the expression to convey the quintessence of the underlying bhava signifying the song.

With the meticulous training from their Guru Shri.Sriram Parasuram, his grateful students Darshana and Sowmya are two emerging musicians of promise.
