classical forms of dance - Bharathanatyam and Kuchipudi. She is an accredited
solo performer and a top-ranking artiste known for adherence to the traditional
repetoire, claiming the appreciation of the audience and the press.
Her initial training as a Bharathanatyam dancer under the tutelage of Guru
Kalaimamani Smt. K.J. Sarasa moulded her into a devoted and disciplined
dancer.
Her expansion of expression and ceaseless endeavour for classicism brought
her to the lgendary Guru of Kuchipudi - Padmabhushan Dr. Vempati Chinna
Satyam. Both her Gurus gave her the artistic foundation that nourished her
into the exquisite artiste she is.
She mastered the Skills, inherited the tradition, imbibed the qualities,
enriched the repetoire and expanded into new horizons of themes for her
dance dramas and solos. she chiselled them with her inimitable choreographer
skills, always keeping the two styles pure, precise and exclusive. What
marks Sailaja is her total involvement, complete commitment and consummate
dedication.
Kuchipudi

of Andhra Pradesh, by which the form of dance is known. Kuchipudi is known
for its mellifluous music, classical literature and disciplined choreographic
style. Originally in the dance drama format, it has evolved into a solo
