Nityashri's husband commits suicide; sadness envelopes kutcheri community

Sadness and shock has enveloped the arts community in Chennai which is in the middle of the December Season.

News at midday on Tamil TV channels announced that Mahadevan, husband of wellknown Carnatic vocalist Nityashri, had committed suicide by jumping into the Adyar river.

The Mahadevans live in Kotturpuram, close to the river side. Pictures showed his car parked by the bridge.

This happened around midday on Dec.20.  Mahadevan's body was recovered from the slushy river.

It was then and sent to a govt hospital.

 Nithyashree has two daughters and she is granddaughter of late D K Pattammal.

She was recently seen at a fest for kids in Mylapore and was to have sung at a concert at Chennai Cultural Academy, T Nagar.
