Academy season tickets are hot sellers

If there is one festival for which tickets sell hot, it is that of The Music Academy, Madras.
The reason is manifold - the top-class artistes perform here, the auditorium is good and promises listening pleasure and you brush shoulders with the who's who of the Carnatic music world.

The Academy's tickets, out on sale are limited since most are taken by its members.
Season tickets go on sale in early December and there is a system for its sale - you queue up at its campus ( most do so by 3 a.m.), get lucky to get tokens and then be content with a couple of season tickets.
Most are for the balcony - last year, the topmost rows were at Rs.1000.
The season tickets get exhausted in less than an hour.
Tickets for the evening two concerts are sold at start of that day. If you are an early bird you do get a ticket that has been the past experience.
A little bird says the season ticket sale is a closely kept secret but the box office may open on Dec.1 / first week.
