Pappu Venugopala Rao is the convenor of this year's Conference of lectures at The Music Academy's 2012 Conference.
Trichur V Ramachandran will preside over them.
The academic sessions start on Dec.16 and end on Jan.1, 2013.

They start after the half-hour devotional music at 8 a.m. and end at 10 am.
Day one is top heavy with the theme for discussion - Oral tradition; Textual Tradition - featuring P S Narayanaswamy, M B Vedavalli, R Vedavalli, R S Jayalakshmi, N. Ramani, T R Subramaniam, V. Subramaniam, Suguna Varadachari and Neyveli Santhanagopalan.
Among the lectures are Prof. Indira Peterson's 'King Serfoji II of Tanjore and European Music', dancer Swarnamalya Ganesh's 'Reconstruction of Dance repertoire of the Nayak period', vidwan Sikkil Bhaskaran's 'Mayuram Govindaraja Pillai' and Vikram Sampath's 'History of Recording'.
These sessions are open to all and held at the Kasturi Srinivasan hall in the Academy's campus.
