CHENNAI: Theatre, classical music and dance by Gowri Ramnarayan
Chennai-based journalist, writer and theatreperson Gowri Ramnarayan has been fusing theatre, classical music and movement in her recent productions. Her latest is Sakhi and she says it is a theatre performance blending music, dance and poetry to look at many kinds of friendship, to portray many kinds of friends. The songs are by poets old and new - in several languages - and the performance is by two young artistes: Carnatic vocalist Bharathi Ramasubban and Anjana Anand, a dancer trained in Kalakshetra who now teaches there. Sakhi will be premiered on 23 Sept 2012, Sunday, 6.30pm, at the TN Rajaratinam Kalai Arangam, Adyar, Chennai..

Apsaras Arts, Singapore will premier its dance production Nirmanika - The Beauty of Architecture in India.
