Chennai-based journalist, writer and theatreperson Gowri Ramnarayan has been fusing theatre, classical music and movement in her recent productions. Her latest is Sakhi and she says it is a theatre performance blending music, dance and poetry to look at many kinds of friendship, to portray many kinds of friends. The songs are by poets old and new - in several languages - and the performance is by two young artistes: Carnatic vocalist Bharathi Ramasubban and Anjana Anand, a dancer trained in Kalakshetra who now teaches there.
