BANGALORE: Music Fest in Jayanagar. Sept.6
Percussive Arts Centre, Bangalore presents 'Krishnotsava', a music fest from Sept. 6 to 9 under the banner of Sri Jayarama Seva Mandali at 492/A, 1st Main, 8th Block, Jayanagar, Bangalore 560082. Anoor R. Dattatraya Sharma will open the fest. A vocal concert by Akshatha R. S. follows. On 7th September, is a vocal concert by Shilpa Shashidhar. On 8th September, at 6.30 pm is a vocal concert by Omkar Havaldar. On Sunday, 9th September, at 6.30 pm is 'Haridasa Nadanjali', a musical feature led by Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar on vocal. CHENNAI: Prof. Venkataramanan Concert, Sept.6
Prof.Venkataramanan (grand disciple of Harikesanallur Muthaiah Bhagavathar) is presently a Carnatic music concert at Srinivasa Sasthri Hall, Luz, Mylapore in memory of Madurai Mani Iyer and Thiruvengad Jayaraman on Thursday, the 6th of September. In his 70s, his traditional style has impressed rasikas even today. A student at the Swati Tirunal College in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala in the 50s, he went on to be a music teacher for over three decades and says he loves teaching because it helps him to learn all the time. The Mylapore concert will be a rare appearance of this senior artiste and teacher. Open to all..
