The 4th day of the Svanubhava 2010 festival saw an audience that outmatched those of the previous days, swelled by numerous PSBB students.
The first programme was a dance performance by the talented students of PSBB.
The first major recital was a group concert by four rising vocalists, Amrita Murali, Kunnakudy Balamuralikrishna, Nisha Rajagopal, and Prasanna Venkatraman, accompanied by established artistes Poongulam Subramaniam and H N Bhaskar.
The programme, directed by R. Vedavalli, displayed each of the young artists' individual abilities while producing a more powerful result through their combination.
Following the tea break was a concert by the Priya Sisters with M. A. Krishnaswamy, Patri Satish Kumar, B. Shree Sundar Kumar. Their combined singing along with the excellent accompaniment made the performance very enjoyable.
Following lunch, Koothu-pattarai presented a social play in Tamil that was very well received.
The day was concluded with a lec-dem on the role of an Upa Pakkavadhyam in a concert by S Karthick, B S Purushothaman, Bangalore S Rajasekhar with G Ravikiran, H N Bhaskar and Sherthalai Ananthakrishnan. Through a mix of explanations and short performances, they demonstrated very clearly the importance of Upa Pakkavadhyams in enhancing the concert.
Svanubhava 2010 Day 3: SPB chats, Vijay Siva sings

The 3rd day of the Svanubhava 2010 festival moves to Chettinad Harishree Vidyalayam, one of the three new host schools this for this year's festival.
The school presented itself well, opening the programmes with group vocal and dance performances. The first main event, the Pancha Vadhyam concert was an interesting view into a traditional musical form from Kerala.
The various instruments and their special sounds coupled with the great abilities of the performers and their co-ordination made the programme very exciting.
This was followed by a vina concert by E. Gayathri whose musical expression through the instrument was fantastic. B Ganapathiraman and Trichy K Murali matched her playing with their own skills, adding to the concert greatly.
After lunch, playback singer S P Balasubramanyam and film maker Rajeev Menon captured the audience's undivided attention between their discussion on music in Tamil films and SPB's gorgeous voice.
N Vijay Siva accompanied by R K Sriramkumar, K Arun Prakash, and Anirudh Athreya in a concert to cap off the day's programme - it with a nice vocal concert.
Day 2: Overcast Skies and focus on clarinet and koothu

The sky was lightly overcast as the 2nd day of Svanubhava 2010 at Kalakshetra campus got underway.
Just the perfect setting for anothereventful day.
The tented open-air theatre, the venue was crowded.
Following a performance by the Government Music College students, there was an amazing clarinet concert by vidwan A K C Natarajan, whose ability to produce the most elaborate gamakas and play the fastest brigas stunned the audience.
The veteran also shared his thoughts on his music, with a dash of humour.
The giant screens off stage beamed the action on stage.
When he got off the stage the vidwan was sweating profusely but seemed to have enjoyed the recital.
Next, a group of Kattaikoothu performers brought by arts promoter V. R. Devika gave an in-depth presentation of their art.
They exquisitely performed key elements in Kattaikoothu. Devika and the lead artistes explained the features of the koothu that gave the audience a clear picture of the art.
After lunch and a short recital by a group of young students, Chitravina N Ravikiran presented a lec-dem on Pallavis, accompanied by with M A Sundaresan and K Arun Prakash. He covered all aspects of Pallavi.
AR Srinivasan and 'Crazy' Mohan concluded the programme with a hilarious discussion of humor in Tamil films.
Svanubhava - Day One: Recitals, interaction go live!

Svanubhava – A festival exclusively for Indian performing arts began today with an inauguration at Kalakshetra, Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai.
Following this was a 20-minute presentation by the students of Kalakshetra followed by a grand inaugural concert by Thrisur V. Ramachandran.
This was followed by a dance recital by Alarmel Valli and Madhvi Mudgal, presenting Bharatanatyam and Odissi.
This was followed by the lunch break where food was provided for everyone who attended the festival.
PSBB Nungambakkam welcomed everyone back during the post lunch session with a ten minute group performance.
Next up, was the much awaited face-to-face interaction between P. Unnikrishnan and Karthik Kumar of Evam, a theatre company.
The final programme for the day was a thala vadya Kutcheri by T. K. Murthy and his students, presenting their unique style or ‘bani’ of Carnatic percussion.
The entire day was filled with questions from the students which all these great artistes answered with passion and warmth. Every artiste appreciated the work that Svanubhava is doing for the students and wished the festival all success.
